Creating a Corner Peel
Corner Peels are small advertisements that show at the top of your website. They “peek” out from behind the corner and give the look as if the website is peeling back to show something. When a user hovers over the small corner, the peel grows and shows an advertisement. Clicking on the advertisement will redirect the visitor to a URL you specify.
To create a Corner Peel navigate to Banners > Promo Schedule
This will bring you to the Promo Schedule Component Listing screen. A Corner Peel is considered a Component, so we want to ensure that we are on the Component tab when creating a new Corner Peel.
In the New Component Type dropdown, select JQ Corner Peel. This will open a new form to create a Corner Peel.
Corner Peel Settings
There are various fields for a Corner Peel, but also very straightforward.
- Enter Starter Peel Size: This is the size of the corner peel when it is in “peek mode”. Ie. before the website visitor hovers over it.
- Enter Ending Peel Size: This is the size of the corner peel when a website visitor hovers over it.
- Enter Ad Image URL: This is the advertisement image that will display in the corner peel
- Enter the Full Click Through URL: This is the URL that the user will be redirected to when they click on the Corner Peel ad.
Since your website can fit on various screen sizes and devices, you’ll want the Corner Peel to look correct no matter how your website visitors view your website. You can hide the Corner Peel after a certain width or create a “breakpoint” where you can use a different size corner peel.
Name and Saving
The last field is for giving your Corner Peel a Name. Once you have filled out all of the fields, you can click the Save New Component button.
Corner Peel on your Website
When a user hovers over the small corner, the peel grows and shows an advertisement. Clicking on the advertisement will redirect the visitor to a URL you had specified.
