Using One CMS Galleries, you can create a professional looking gallery that displays as either thumbnails or a slider. Galleries are their own post-type, so you can link right to a gallery page or use shortcode to display the gallery anywhere you want!
Professional Galleries also offer different types of image voting. Want to allow your visitors to submit media to your galleries? You can hook up One CMS UGC to a gallery and get images from your audience as well!
Creating an Image Gallery
Click Galleries > Add New Image Gallery
You’ll be redirected to the Add New Gallery screen where you can first add the Gallery Title and an optional Description (in the editor).
You have two options on how you add images to your Gallery. Those options are selected in the Select Gallery By dropdown. Gallery by Images or Gallery by Tags.
The default option for adding images to a gallery is by Uploading (Gallery by Images). Click the Add to Gallery button to open the Media window and either select images from your Library or upload images from your computer. Pretty easy!
Adding Images by Tags
The second way of adding Images to a gallery is by Tags. When you have a gallery that is created by tags, the gallery will always watch for images with a certain tag (or tags). Whenever an image is added to your website with that specific tag, it will automatically be added to the gallery! Imagine having galleries all over your website that you never have to maintain! Just tag your images as you upload them to your posts, pages or just into the Media Library and they will instantly show up in the correct gallery!
Select Gallery by Tags in the dropdown and enter the tag or tags that the gallery should look for when adding images. You can also select whether all the tags need to match or any of them.
Selecting the Gallery Type lets you choose how the Images will display for your audience on the frontend of your website.
Gallery Layout will display your images as a grid of thumbnails that users can click on to have the images display in a modal window. Users can arrow through the images once they are in the modal.
Slider Layout displays the images in a slider that users can arrow through without opening a modal. (Important Note: Gallery Voting is only compatible with the Gallery Layout. It is not available with the Slier Layout)
You can enable Voting in your Gallery if you have One CMS Gallery Pro. We cover setting up and managing Voting in a separate tutorial.
After you save the Gallery, if you want to have it available in other areas of your website, you’ll be able to grab the shortcode for the gallery to place it where-ever you want (in posts, pages, etc…)
Gallery Feature Image
You can choose to use the first image in the gallery as the feature image or upload your own.
Publishing Your Gallery
Once you are ready to publish your Gallery, click the blue Publish button. Like other One CMS content types, you can save it as a draft or schedule it to publish at a later date or time.
Once you publish the gallery, you can view it by clicking the link at the top of the page.
Gallery on your Website
Let’s take a look at a Gallery Layout.
As noted before, your audience can view the full-sized images by clicking on a thumbnail. They can also directly share images to Facebook or Twitter by hovering over the thumbnail and clicking the Facebook or Twitter share buttons.
