What is Podcasting?
What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a form of audio broadcasting on the Internet. How are podcasts different than just searching for a music file and playing it? Well, if you submit your podcasts to various services like iTunes, Google Play or Spotify, then your audio will go directly to your audience through syndication instead of them going to the files.
What if you don’t syndicate your podcasts via a service? That’s fine! You can also use One CMS Podcasting to make your audio available on your website via our custom media players.
What is a Podcast?
A podcast is simply a container. It doesn’t actually do anything but contain audio episodes that you want to group together. So all of audio episodes from “The Bob Locker Show” would be contained in a Podcast we would most likely call “The Bob Locke Show”. This podcast “container” also allows all the those episodes to be in a single feed that your audience can subscribe to (either via a service or directly from the RSS feed itself). That way they are always notified of new episodes for “The Bob Locke Show”!
