    Creating Subscriber Lists

The most important part of any successful email campaign is the subscribers!  Without subscribers, your email won’t go to anyone.

One CMS Vip Club allows you to not only manage your subscribers, but also to segment them into lists so you can target email campaigns to specific groups of people.

    VIP Club Subscribers

You can access you subscribers by clicking the Subscriber tab at the top of the VIP Club screen.Lists

The default view is Lists.  This is a listing of all the various Lists of subscribers you created.  Remember, Lists can be used to group together various subscribers for better email targeting.  You may not have any Lists when you first view this screen, so let’s create one!

    Creating Lists

To create a new Subscriber List, click the Create List button.

This will bring you to the create list screen which only have one field.  The name of the list!

You can name your list anything you want, but keep in mind that your subscribers will be able to see that name when they manage their subscription. Our advice, keep it simple and call it newsletter for example.

For any list that you want people to be able to subscribe to on your website (using the subscriber widget or form for example) you must select the checkbox to “allow user to sign up to this list”.

Click the Save List button to create the list.

You new list is created.  You’ll notice nobody is in it though!  There’s quite a few ways to add subscribers into a list, let’s take a look at them.

    Adding Subscribers to a List

The main way you’ll get new subscribers is by them signing up via a VIP Club Signup Form (covered in a separate tutorial).  But there’s also a number of different ways you can add subscribers to a list behind the scenes which we’ll cover below.

    Adding from a Search Result

First off, you may already have subscribers in your VIP Club that you want to add into the List.  You can perform a search and add the results of that search to your new list.

Click the Search tab at the top of the Subscribers screen.

You have a variety of filters you can use to target a specific group of subscribers.  You can search by gender, minimum age or zip code.

You can also click a location on the map and select a radius (in miles) to select all subscribers in that area.

Once you’ve entered your criteria, you are ready to perform the search!  Click the Search Now button.

The search results of subscribers will display.  From here, you can select the entire list or manually select subscribers using the checkboxes on the left side.

At the bottom of screen, there are options to create a new list based on your search results or add them into an existing list.  That’s what we are going to do.  We’ll select the “Newsletter” list we just created and click the Add All Subscribers button to add ALL the subscribers from the results of this search.

Depending on the size of the import, this may take a few minutes.  Once the import is complete, you’ll see the active subscribers in your list.

    Importing Subscribers from External Sources

If you have subscribers you need to import from another system, you can also import into a list using a csv file.

Click the Import button on the List you want to add the subscribers to.

On the next screen you can upload the csv file of subscribers into the list.

    Manually Adding Subscribers

You can also manually add subscribers to your lists by clicking the Add button on a List.

From here you can manually add a single subscriber by filling out the various fields and clicking Submit.

At the bottom of the page, you can also manually add multiple subscribers in comma separated values using the format described next to the input field.

    Viewing Your Subscriber List

You can see a list of all the subscribers in a List by clicking the View / Edit button on a list.

This will display all of the subscribers in the selected List.  From here you can filter the list and edit users or delete them.

    Exporting Lists

You can also export your Lists into a csv file for use in other applications.  Click the Export button on a Subscriber List.

This will generate a csv file of the subscribers that you can download.
