Adding Video to Content
One CMS Video is designed to be flexible to your needs and as such, the player can be inserted into a page in a variety of ways with a mountain of options!
Inserting a Video into a Post
When you have the Video feature activated, a special meta box will be available on your posting screens that connects you directly to the videos and playlists in your Video Library.
This metabox lets you insert any video or playlist you have into a post with just a click! No confusing shortcode ids to remember. Let’s break it down.
Player
You can select to use any player that was created on your website. Just pick from the Player dropdown and the video or playlist you select will be rendered in the selected player. For DFP Pre-Roll clients, that also means any Ad Tags you have associated with a player will be used as well.
Insert As
One CMS Video gives you the option of inserting your video as a shortcode or as raw embed code. Why use raw embed code? If your content is being syndicated outside of the One CMS realm (3rd party websites that don’t support One CMS Shortcode) your videos will still render. If you don’t plan on syndicating your content outside of your website (or other One CMS websites) we recommend leaving this setting as shortcode.
Video
Here is where you can find the video you want to insert into your content.
Searching for Video
By the default, the most recent videos that were published will display in the video listing, but you can also search for older videos by using the search field.
Inserting Video
Once you’ve found the video you want to insert, just hover over the video until you see the Use button. Click the Use button and the shortcode for that video episode will instantly be inserted wherever your cursor was in the content.
Inserting Playlists
There’s another tab in the Video section to insert Playlists. It works basically the same as inserting videos, but instead, you’ll insert a playlist (which embeds a special playlist player with thumbs for the various video episodes).
An extra setting is available for inserting playlists. Autoplay Next Videos. If enabled, after the user plays a video in a playlist, it will automatically begin playing the next video after it is over.
Once you’ve found the playlist you want to insert, just hover over the playlist name until you see the Use button. Click the Use button and the shortcode for that playlist will instantly be inserted wherever your cursor was in the content.
Uploading Videos into Posts
The third option is to upload a video right into a post. Select Upload from the Insert Video metabox:
This will bring up a modal where you can upload a video with the same fields you would find if uploading the video episode from the Video section of the CMS.
Videos In Posts
Here’s how the two videos we inserted into a post would look like:
Here’s the single video episode we inserted.
…and here’s the Playlist we inserted (note the thumbs along the bottom which users can choose which video to watch)
