OneCMS Global Content allows you to share a single piece of content across multiple websites in your OneCMS network.
Whether it’s a corporate privacy policy, legal disclaimer, market-wide promotion, or any reusable block of content, you can manage it in one place and display it on multiple sites by simply placing a shortcode wherever you want the content to appear.
This makes it easy to maintain consistency and save time when managing frequently reused information across your network.
Before You Start
Keep the following in mind when using Global Content:
- ✅ Content must be created using the Classic Editor. Elementor-based pages are not supported for Global Content.
- ❌ Shortcodes inside your content will not work on sites you share to. Don’t utilize shortcode like polls or forms in Global Content.
- ✅ Best for rich text and media like text blocks, images, lists, and links.
- ✅ Edits made to the source content are automatically pushed to all sites where the shortcode is used.
Creating Global Content
Edit the post or page you want to share on the parent website. (In this example, we’re using a privacy policy.)
- NOTE: Only the content within the editor will be shared, not the page title

In the right sidebar, find the Global Content box and check the box labeled “Enable as Global Content”.

Click Update or Publish. Once saved, a unique shortcode will appear in the Global Content box. Copy this shortcode, it’s how you’ll reuse the content on other sites.

Using Global Content (on any other site)
Go to any other site in your OneCMS network where you want to display the content.
Create a new page or post and paste the shortcode you copied into the content editor and publish.

The shared content will now display exactly as it appears on the original site. You can use the shortcode on multiple sites, and even in multiple places on the same site.

When you make any changes to the original content on the parent site:

Those updates are instantly pushed out everywhere the shortcode is used.
In the example above, we changed the effective date (in red). That change was instantly reflected across all sites using the shortcode.

Managing Global Content
In your Posts or Pages list on the parent site:
-
You’ll see a “Global Content” column showing which items are shared.

-
Use the dropdown filter at the top to show only global content (enabled or disabled).

Disabling Global Content
To stop sharing a piece of global content, uncheck the Global Content box on the original post or page and save the content.

The content will still be live on the original (parent) site. All other sites using the shortcode will now display a friendly message saying the content is no longer available.
