Welcome, Birthday and Double Opt-In Emails

The “Automated Emails” tab in VIP Club gives you full control over three key subscriber touchpoints: the Welcome Email, Double Opt-In Email, and Birthday Email. Here’s how to set each one up and use them effectively.

Navigate to Automated Emails

1. Go to VIP Club.

2. Click on the Automated Emails tab.

3. You’ll see three tabs for each of the Automated Emails you can setup below.

Set Up a Welcome Email

The Welcome Email is a custom message sent to new subscribers after they join the VIP Club. (Note: if double opt-in is enabled, the subscriber will first receive an opt-in confirmation email, and the Welcome Email will be sent separately once they have verified their account.)

1. Click on the Welcome Email tab.

1. Check the box to Enable Welcome Email.

2. Enter a Subject Line.

4. Choose an Email Template.

5. Compose your message using optional merge fields like [FNAME] to personalize content.

6. Click Save.

7. (Optional) Use Send Test Email to preview how the email will appear.

Customize the Double Opt-In Email

Double Opt-in adds an extra layer of security to your subscriber list by requiring new subscribers to confirm their email address. After signing up, they’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to verify their subscription. This process helps ensure that only legitimate subscribers join your list, keeping spammers, robots, and other unwanted contacts out.

1. Click on the Double Opt-In Email tab.

2. Check the box to Enable Double Opt-In.

3. Enter or Edit the Subject Line.

4. Choose a Template.

5. Write your email content. This area is pre-populated with a default message. You can edit to fit your branding, but make sure to include the [SP:CONFIRMLINK] tag — this is required! You can also use the Quick Tags to further personalize your Double Opt-In email.

6. Click Save. (🚫 Remember, you won’t be able to save if the confirm link tag is missing.)

Set Up Birthday Emails

Birthday Emails are automated messages sent to subscribers on their special day to help you engage with your audience in a personalized way. Customize the content to include personalized greetings, special offers or promotions using quick tags for a more meaningful touch.

1. Click on the Birthday Email tab.

1. Check the box to Enable Birthday Email.

2. Optionally edit the default Subject Line.

1. Choose a Template for the email to be rendered from.

1. Write your birthday message (tip: you can utilize merge fields like [FNAME]).

1. Click Save.

1. (Optional) Use the Send Test Email button.

🎂 Birthday emails are automatically sent on the subscriber’s birth date.
